Job description

The surface labourer performs various tasks to ensure the smooth operation of mining site activities. They provide support to different trades to maintain production efficiency. They also handle the maintenance of the garage and buildings. Working closely with foremen and project managers, the labourer provides manual support while adhering to all workplace safety procedures, policies, and standards.

• The surface labourer performs various tasks to ensure the smooth operation of mining site activities. They provide support to different trades to maintain production efficiency. They also handle the maintenance of the garage and buildings. Working closely with foremen and project managers, the labourer provides manual support while adhering to all workplace safety procedures, policies, and standards;
• Pick up parts from clients and suppliers;
• Ensure company vehicles and equipment are kept clean;
• Refill diesel equipment and vehicles;
• Ensure work sites are clean and safe;
• Perform general labour tasks and assist tradespeople in their work;
• Install safety equipment on site;
• Use tools for maintenance tasks in the workshop;
• Conduct daily inspections and maintenance of equipment and tools, reporting any necessary repairs;
• Operate and use rigging and lifting equipment.

Job requirements

• High school diploma (Secondary 5) or DE;.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with experience towing trailers;
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience on construction sites or as a labourer;
• Valid explosives permit is an asset;yep!
• Knowledge of mechanics and the mining industry is an advantage.
