Job description

Under the supervision of the foreman/project manager, the holder of this position is responsible for supporting the site team. To assume this role, you will work in collaboration with other mechanics, other welders and other trades by providing quality and confidential field technical support.

Main responsibilities 

• Read and interpret mechanical (pneumatic and hydraulic) blueprints, diagrams, and maintenance manuals to determine how to proceed
• Install, adjust, inspect, repair fixed industrial machinery or mechanical equipment and investigate the causes of breakdowns
• Operate various lifting devices and equipment
• Manufacture parts necessary for the repair, maintenance, assembly of machines, etc. using machining tools such as lathes and grinding wheels
• Intervene on site during planned shutdowns on customer sites
• Perform preventive maintenance on machinery
• Plan the different stages relating to welding work.
• Determine and implement the required welding processes.
• Use manual and semi-automatic welding tools.
• Operate metalworking machines (e.g., shears, bending presses).
• Perform welding and brazing of metals to design products or infrastructure.
• Perform welding and brazing of metals to repair products or infrastructure.
• Perform quality checks
• Assume any other responsibilities that may arise from this job

Experience, Skills & Education

• DEP in welding-assembly, DEP industrial mechanic or related experiences;
• 1 to 10 years of experience in a similar position;
• ASP Construction card;
• Miner module 1-2-3-4-5-7 is an asset
• CWB card (4 positions) is an asset
• High pressure welding card is an asset
• All field experience (construction site) will be considered an asset
• Demonstrate interest and sensitivity towards health and safety at work;
• Mastery of oral and written French, English will be an asset;
