Job Description

Under the supervision of the financial controller, the accounting technician supports and directs activities related to accounting cycles, data entry and invoicing. To assume this role, you will work in collaboration with the administrative body and project managers by providing quality and confidential technical support.

 

Main responsibilities

  • Perform data entry (invoices, checks) and bank reconciliations;
  • Execute and verify the payment process for multiple suppliers;
  • Make accounting entries and adjustment entries;
  • Process the weekly pay cycle, DAS discount and the group insurance invoice;
  • Monitor employee vacations and other authorized absences, to ensure proper management of benefits during periods of leave; implement any change in group insurance;
  • Answer questions employees may have about their payments and participate in resolving them as needed
  • Contribute to the end of month process;
  • Contribute to the verification of invoicing, management of RMAs and others;
  • Perform relief tasks during absences or vacations (accounts payable/receivable, reception support, etc.) and other related tasks
  • Perform general administrative tasks

 

Experience, Skills & Education 

  • DEC, Baccalaureate or equivalent training in accounting
  • Between 3-10 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing company or in the construction industry
  • In-depth knowledge of labor standards and human resources best practices
  • Knowledge of Sage50 and Acomba
  • Knowledge of the EmployerD interface
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite;
  • Bilingual an asset
